Latest Letter from Zac (Dec. 17th)

Hola everyoneHow are you guys doing? All is well here in the dominican Republic. Well this week has been a pretty crazy week. We had some awesome lessons with our investigators this week. We also got a reference from the other missionaries in Constanza and she went to church and everything. The only problem is that im not in Constanza anymore. ha ha actually it is not a problem because i am in a really cool area right now. Yes i did get transferred this week. I got a call on Monday morning from the mission president. He called me and asked if i would move up and be Senior comp. I told him ya. He said that i will be transferred to Las Antillas in the city. My area is right here in the city. Its a big area so that is cool. My new comp is named Elder Capellan. He is pretty cool. He is dominican and he has about 6 months in the mission. We live in a 2 man house and i even have a cell phone! Pretty cool huh? I miss Constanza a lot but i am also excited to be here. Its a lot more humid and warm down here that is for sure! Also Christmas is on its way. I cant believe that it is next week. Elder Hicks who i was living with is going home this week also. He is really excited to see his family. Well nothing really else going on. I had to say goodbye to the members in Constanza yesterday and that was a little sad but now i get to meet cool members again. Well i hope everything is going well with everyone. Have a good Week! Thanks for the support!

Constanza's beautiful waterfall. I can see why Zac loved this area!

Zac playing Barbies!?! The little boy looks confused!

The Polar Express

So........it's been a month since I have updated my blog.(loser!) I have been frantically running around getting my shopping done and trying to get into the Christmas spirit. I don't know why I feel so stressed out about Christmas this year, but I can't seem to get it together. Hopefully in the next few days I can get my act together and be ready for Christmas. My sister Leslie and I took Madison and her son Trey on The Polar Express train last night. I thought Madi might be too old for it, but she loved it. It ended up being a really fun night!

Latest Letter From Zac (Nov. 19th)

Hola everyone,
How are you guys doing? Im doing good here in the D.R. Well as you guys know i did get a new comp last week. His name is Elder Bolquez and he is way cool. He is dominican which makes it even more fun. He knows a lot of english so I have been learning a lot. He has about a year in the mission so that is cool. He has about 1 transfer more than me. I dont know what it is but i have been really blessed with my companions in the mission. I have learned a lot from all of them and i think this transfer is going to be close to the same if not better. Well this week has been good. I had a good birthday. We baked a cake and had some fun. We found some cool people this week and we left a baptismal date with a family so hopefully that will go through. They are a really cool family. This week we have interviews with President so i am excited for that to talk with him and stuff. Also our temple trip is coming up soon. We are going there either the 9 or 10 of December and that is going to be really fun. Well in Constanza it is getting a little bit colder here but i really like it. It kind of reminds me of home with all the mountains and cold but its awesome. Well not much else going on. I hope you guys are doing good! Thanks for all your support.

These are the mountains in Constanza that Zac was talking about in his letter.
This is one of Zac's awesome companions he talked about in the letter. He is at the airport coming home. Doesn't he look healthy and happy? Wow! Missionaries do come home!!!

Happy Birthday Zac!!!!!

Last Monday (17th) was Zac's 20th birthday. To celebrate, we went to one of his favorite restaurants, Porcupine. We had a great time but we sure did miss him. We took these pictures to send to him.

Hiking in St. George

We went hiking at Red Cliffs last Friday. The weather was perfect and we had a great time. Zane was too "busy" to spend anytime with his family, but we still love him. Lynnanne and I scaled those cliffs with the greatest agility. (jk) Kyle and Frank had to rescue us from our 3 foot fall we almost had. The hike was Madi and Mckell's favorite part of the trip.

Zac's Latest Letter (Oct. 22nd)

These are the brothers that Zac taught, but was transferred three days before their baptism. He was sad he wasn't there, but was happy they were baptized.

Latest Letter From Zac (Oct. 8)

Mountain in Constanza

Zac's new shower!!
Beautiful View of farm land.

Ghetto??? I saw Zac's apartment in a pic. and it looks alot better than this. Thank Goodness.

Hola Everyone

How is everything going? All is well here in the D.R. and in Constanza.Well a lot to talk about this week. First off Constanza is awesome. Its so wierd to think that we are still in the Carribean when you are up there. It gets pretty cold at night and we have to take warm showers. Its pretty sweet. Well the area is really good and big. I think that we can have a lot of success up there if we work hard. The church is only a branch up there right now but they are putting a chapel up there within a year. Right now its just a house so it will be good for them to get a chapel up there. This past week the 4 brothers up in Puerto Plata were baptized. It was really cool and im excited that the baptism went through. Well as all of you know General Conference was this past week. WE had a really good time. I enjoyed conference a lot this time. I learned so much and the talks were amazing. One of my favorites was by Joseph B. Wirthlin and how he talked about we just need to smile and have fun. It was a really awesome talk. Of course Thomas S. Monson had amazing talks like always. It was really an enjoyable time. Well yesterday we had interviews with President and that went really good! We talked about a lot of good stuff. We talked a lot about Constanza and hoiw the Branch is doing up there. It was really good. Our investigators up there are doing good also. We have a few baptismal dates so hopefully we can get them to make their covenants with Heavenly Father. Well today is P-day Santiago. We had to wake up at 5 to come into Santiago because we are so far away. Elder Allen is going to stop by an old area of his and visit some people. Me and Elder Allen are getting along realliy good. I think that we are going to have a lot of success this transfer! Well thank you everyone for your support and love!

Hola Everyone
How are you guys doing? So what is new? Well everything is good here in Puerta Plata. We have had a lot of rain lately because another storm came through here but nothing bad at all! Well as you guys know i cant email back to everyone of you so if i dont have your address please send it to me. You can continue to write me and ill just send a letter back to you guys and you can also send me letters. Well everything is going good here in the mission! This week we met a new family named Francisco and Ingris. This family is awesome. Every time we come over they tell us that they feel something good. I love when you have the spirit on your side! ha ah We watched the movie The Testaments with them and they said that they really liked it a lot. They are even reading the Book of Mormon and praying. They are really awesome. Well this week we also had interviews with President. That was awesome and we had a good talk about the church and the Priesthood. Well today we went to the beach and played football in the sand. It was awesome and we had a lot of fun. Then we went back to the apartment and ate a little Mangu! Me and Elder Guzman are getting along really good. Sometimes we cant understand what each other is saying but we are way close friends and we have fun and work hard. We are also teaching 4 brothers and they are really interested in the church also. The oldest one wants to serve a mission and be like us so that is pretty cool! We arent in our usual internet center because the power went out (It tends to do that a lot here) so i will send a pic of me and Elder Guzman next week! Well all is well here! Thank you for all your support and love! I hope everyone is doing good!

More Bear Lake Fun!!

Kyle on the 4-wheeler. What a stud!!Madi and I kayaking.
Troy and Wendy, our gracious hosts. Thanks!
Kyle and the cuties.
The whole gang. We love them all.
Last weekend we went up to Bear Lake again with friends in our neighborhood. We had a BLAST!!!! We stayed at the Hanson's cabin and spent Saturday at the beach. We had a ton of food up there and all of it was so good. I was so mad at Zane because he thought that it would be funny to come out of the bathroom with the sling-shot on in front of everyone. It wasn't funny at all!!!! I about killed him. (Another proud parent moment.) The speedos that Jon, Zane, and BJ had didn't seem quite so bad after that but they were still pretty revealing. Haha. We are so thankful for all the friends that we have and for the Hanson's for having us up at the cabin. We had so much fun!!! Thanks.

Zac made these cookies for my birthday and sent this picture of him and Elder Echler eating them. How sweet! This pictures was taken today(Aug. 13th) He is at the resort eating at the buffet. They wanted to celebrate Elder Echler's last P-Day in the mission.

Hola EveryoneHow are you guys all doing? Im doing really good here in the D.R. So what is new? Well this week has been an interesting and tranquilo week. Nothing really going on. We are teaching a reference from a member in our area and their names are Thomas and Sujeri. They are really cool and we have really been close with them lately. They are progressing very well and she is suppose to give birth this week to a baby girl so that should be exciting. We had a really good lesson where the Spirit was so strong so hopefully they could feel it also. We also had Zone Conference this week which was really good! The Zone Conference went for 5 hours but i guess that is pretty close to being average while you are in the mission! ha ah We learned about the Plan of Salvation and also about Jacob 5. It was really cool and once again President Thomas is just amazing to listen too! Well today we woke up and played a little basketball in the morning and its Elder Eschlers last P-day so we tried to make it fun. After basketball we went to the Resort and ate at the buffet and so im really full right now! The food was pretty good. This next week is going to be a really crazy week because Elder Eschler is going to start packing up and going home. Hopefully i dont get too homesick. ha ha On monday i find out who my next companion is going to be. I am a little excited and also a little nervouse at the same time. I will probably stay up here for at least one more transfer unless they whitewash us and i get transferred somewhere else. I dont think that will happen though. Hopefully i get a good comp that will want to work hard like we have been the last 4 transfers. I dont have any idea if it will be a dominican or american. It could be anyone so we will see. Elder Eschler is getting excited to be home though a little scared but he is still excited. Well everyone that is all i have this week. I hope you are doing good and all is well. Thanks for all your support and everything you do for me.Te amoElder Rigby

Zane's Eagle Court of Honor

We are so proud of Zane getting his Eagle. We had a great Court of Honor on July 27th. Zane and Jon Little received their Eagle Award together. Thank you to all of our family and friends for coming and supporting Zane. The talks that were given by Scott Smith, Cody Dingus, and Matt Babcock were really awesome!! Also thanks to the Littles' for helping us plan this event. I know that it meant a lot to Zane to be able to get the award with his friend Jon. We're sorry Zac wasn't able to be there, but we know he is where he needs to be at this time in his life. Zane and Zac were suppose have this Court of Honor before Zac left on his mission but Zane didn't make it before Zac left. Kyle and I are so proud of both of our sons for achieving this award.

Madison and Chewy

This is a picture of Madi and Chewy at Madison's Pet Day at school in May. (Aren't they the cutest!!!) On July 7th our Chewy got hit by a car. Luckily Zane was home and took him to the animal hospital where he spent 2 days. He is improving daily and we feel fortunate that he is doing as well as he is. He is on the mend and we believe he will be back to normal in no time. Thanks to Justin Schroepfer for running a few red lights to get Zane and Chewy to the hospital in just the nick of time!!

Latest Letter from Zac

Hola Everyone,
How is everyone doing? Well im doing good. Another Beautiful day here in the Dominican Republic. Well I will tell all you guys what happened this week in the area. Well we kind of had a good old classic missionary (rough) week. Ha ha first of all we went to teach Daniela who is suppose to be getting baptized this saturday. Well we went to go and teach her about tithing on friday. Well we figured out that her mom bought a new house and they had moved two days before on Wednesday. She moved into a different area so we are going to be able to teach her anymore but its all good everything happens for a reason right? Lol well Tarsia and the family we have been teaching are doing really good. Tarsia is really sick in bed so she wasn't able to go to church on sunday but we left the movie The Testaments with her and she watched it twice with her family and really liked it so me and Elder Eschler are really excited for that right now. The kids are always happy and listen to our lesson and participate when we come over so we are stoked for them because we have had some really good lessons with them. WEll today for P-day we woke up and played some b-ball with our zone so that was really cool. We also did a little shopping because Elder Eschler wants to get some clothes before he goes home. Also i hit 7 months in the mission this week so that is crazy. I cant believe it time has just been flying by. Well everything has been going good down here in the Caribbean. How about for you guys how is life and everything going? Well have a good week.
Love Elder Rigby
