Here We Go Again!

After two years of being gone....I thought I would put a few things on here to share with some of you who have been asking "what's up with the Rigbys?". In a nut shell....Zac's engaged to a beautiful girl named Danielle that we love and are so excited for her to join the family on July 23rd. Zane is on his mission in Bogota Colombia and is loving every minute of it. He has been gone almost 6 months now! Madison is in 8th grade and got her first 4.0. We are so proud of her. I'm still teaching kindergarten and Kyle is still managing his store in Murray. We feel so blessed to have such great family and friends.

Im excited to hear from the prophet and the 12 apostles. It should be very interesting. Well everything is going well here in the D.R. WE have some good investigators. Olcidis is progressing very well. We tried to put a baptismal date with him last night but he told us he needs to work some stuff out so we are going to wait a little bit for him until he is ready. Miguel, Angel, and Rosy are doing well also. They are progressing and doing the things that are good! We also have some new investigators that are doing awesome and are excited about the church so it is sweet. Well this last week was a good week. We worked really hard and taught about 28 lessons which was the most we have ever taught together as a companionship so that was sweet! My comp. Elder Beddes is still doing good and he is learning a lot as each day passes. Well today in the morning we played Softball with a bunch of missionaries and that was really cool! We had a lot of fun. Tomorrow we have interviews with President so im way excited. I also hit my year and 3 mark! I cant believe it! Time is going by way too fast! Well nothing else much going on here! This week has been an interesting week.  On Saturday i got a call from President asking if i would be a trainer.  So yes i have a brand new greenie here.  His name is Elder Beddes and he is from Northern Cali.  He is a good guy and he like basketball and stuff so we get along really good.  I'm excited to be able to show him the mission and to be his first comp.  We had a good P'day today.  We went and bought some groceries and he unpacked a little bit.  Tonight we are going to go to a few citas and show him around the area.  I'm excited to work hard with him this transfer.  Our investigators are doing very well also.  Cristina got up on Sunday and bore her testimony and it was really good so i'm excited to see how that goes.  All in all everything is going really good! Latest Letter From Zac (Jan. 28th)

Hola Everyone

How are you guys doing? All is well here in the D.R. So what is new with everyone. Well this week we had a pretty good week! We have been working pretty hard and looking for some more people to teach. This week we did some contacting in the rich part of our area. Some of these people have like cameras and microphones at the front gate of their houses its pretty crazy! ha ha but all is well. We have some investigators with some baptismal dates and they are progressing well. Yeimy is still preparing for her baptism and Barry and Cristina our preparing for their baptism and marriage. Satan is really working on them so if you could keep them in your prayers that would be great. Also Juan and his wife Nancy are progressing very well and we are hoping to put a baptismal date with them this week so all is well. We are hoping to put a baptismal date with Enriques wife Nanci also. Enrique is a member and we have been getting a lot of support from him so that is going well. Well today for P'day we played basketball in the morning once again with a bunch of missionaries and that was really fun. After we went and ate at TGI Friday´s and that was good. Believe it or not but there are only 2 on this island. ha ha That was really good! All in all it has been a good p´day. On monday we find out who is staying and who is going in the zone. I am pretty sure that im going to stay here in Las Antillas but i don´t know if my comp. Elder Capellan is going to stay or go. We will see on monday. We have had a good transfer and time is flying! I hit my year and 1 mark so wow that is crazy!

Latest Letter from Zac (Jan. 14th)

Hey everyone

How are you guys doing? All is well here in the Dominican Republic. This week was a pretty good week. We had interviews with the Mission President and those were really good. I was able to talk to President Thomas for a while and we had a good discussion about all sorts of stuff. We also had some really good lessons with our investigators this week. We have this family that is a reference from Raul and his wife. The spirit was so strong in one of the lessons we taught because the investigators husband just died like 3 months ago so they are still suffering a little bit. He was pretty young prob about 50 or so. You could just feel the Spirit so strong. I think me and my comp felt it stronger than anyone else but it was definately there. WE have some of our investigators going to church also. We had three in church on sunday and we are going to have a baptism this saturday. Her name is Yeimy and she is about 22 years old. She was a reference from one of the families and she knows a lot so all is good. She is way excited to be baptized. I am really excited for her because she knows a lot and she is so ready for the Gospel in her life. Well today we had a zone activity. We played softball with the Zone and it was pretty fun. It was hot but it was awesome. All in all everything is going good here. We are working hard and finding some more people to teach. Elder Capellan and i are getting along pretty well also. I guess its just another day in paradise.
Well thanks for all the support and Love!

Grandpa Don

We are sad to have to say good-bye to our Father, Father-in-Law, and Grandpa.  Kyle's dad, Don, passed away on January 2nd.  We will miss him.  He was the nicest and sweetest man you could ever know.  We know that he is now in a better place and we will see him again someday.

Latest letter from Zac (Dec 31st)

Hola everyone
How are you guys doing? All is well here in the D.R. Well Christmas was good here. Hot as usual but it was good. It was a little wierd not seeing snow and all but it was good! It was awesome to talk to the fam and get caught up with what is happening in the real world. For Christmas here, we went and ate at a members for Christmas eve and then for Christmas i woke up and opened my packages. Thank you to everyone that sent me packages! I loved them a lot. In the afternoon we called our families. All in all it was awesome. This week we got an awesome reference family from the assistants. They moved from their area to our area but they are awesome. They want to get married and baptized so everything is going good. We are still looking for more people to teach but all in all its good. Today we played basketball here and had a little tournament with a bunch of Elders. It was really cool and i really enjoyed it. We played on hard wood floor and everything believe it or not. Today is also my companions birthday. I have celebrated a birthday with every single one of my companions so i thought that was pretty funny! So how was everyones Christmas? Hope all is well. This week i learned something way cool in the scriptures. In 1Nephi 11:13 (i think) but it talks about how Nephi knows that God loves him but he may not know everything in the world. I was just thinking as long as we know that God loves all of us we don´t need to know everything in the world. We just need to feel that love from our Father! I thought that was really cool! Well thanks for all your support and everything! Love you guys. Love

I got a call on Monday morning from the mission president. He called me and asked if i would move up and be Senior comp. I told him ya. He said that i will be transferred to Las Antillas in the city. My area is right here in the city. Its a big area so that is cool. My new comp is named Elder Capellan. He is pretty cool. He is dominican and he has about 6 months in the mission. We live in a 2 man house and i even have a cell phone! Pretty cool huh? I miss Constanza a lot but i am also excited to be here. Its a lot more humid and warm down here that is for sure! Also Christmas is on its way. I cant believe that it is next week. Elder Hicks who i was living with is going home this week also. He is really excited to see his family. Zac playing Barbies!?! The little boy looks confused!

The Polar Express

So........it's been a month since I have updated my blog.(loser!) I have been frantically running around getting my shopping done and trying to get into the Christmas spirit. I don't know why I feel so stressed out about Christmas this year, but I can't seem to get it together. Hopefully in the next few days I can get my act together and be ready for Christmas. My sister Leslie and I took Madison and her son Trey on The Polar Express train last night. I thought Madi might be too old for it, but she loved it. It ended up being a really fun night!

Hiking in St. George

We went hiking at Red Cliffs last Friday. The weather was perfect and we had a great time. Zane was too "busy" to spend anytime with his family, but we still love him. Lynnanne and I scaled those cliffs with the greatest agility. (jk) Kyle and Frank had to rescue us from our 3 foot fall we almost had. The hike was Madi and Mckell's favorite part of the trip.

Zac's Latest Letter (Oct. 22nd)

These are the brothers that Zac taught, but was transferred three days before their baptism. He was sad he wasn't there, but was happy they were baptized.

Beautiful View of farm land.

Ghetto??? I saw Zac's apartment in a pic. and it looks alot better than this. Thank Goodness.

Hola Everyone

How is everything going? All is well here in the D.R. and in Constanza.Well a lot to talk about this week. First off Constanza is awesome. Its so wierd to think that we are still in the Carribean when you are up there. It gets pretty cold at night and we have to take warm showers. Its pretty sweet. Well the area is really good and big. I think that we can have a lot of success up there if we work hard. The church is only a branch up there right now but they are putting a chapel up there within a year. Right now its just a house so it will be good for them to get a chapel up there. This past week the 4 brothers up in Puerto Plata were baptized. It was really cool and im excited that the baptism went through. Well as all of you know General Conference was this past week. WE had a really good time. I enjoyed conference a lot this time. I learned so much and the talks were amazing. One of my favorites was by Joseph B. Wirthlin and how he talked about we just need to smile and have fun. It was a really awesome talk. Of course Thomas S. Monson had amazing talks like always. It was really an enjoyable time. Well yesterday we had interviews with President and that went really good! We talked about a lot of good stuff. We talked a lot about Constanza and hoiw the Branch is doing up there. It was really good. Our investigators up there are doing good also. We have a few baptismal dates so hopefully we can get them to make their covenants with Heavenly Father. Well today is P-day Santiago. We had to wake up at 5 to come into Santiago because we are so far away. Elder Allen is going to stop by an old area of his and visit some people. Me and Elder Allen are getting along realliy good. I think that we are going to have a lot of success this transfer! Well thank you everyone for your support and love!

More Bear Lake Fun!!

Kyle on the 4-wheeler. What a stud!!Madi and I kayaking.
Troy and Wendy, our gracious hosts. Thanks!
Kyle and the cuties.
The whole gang. We love them all.
Last weekend we went up to Bear Lake again with friends in our neighborhood. We had a BLAST!!!! We stayed at the Hanson's cabin and spent Saturday at the beach. We had a ton of food up there and all of it was so good. I was so mad at Zane because he thought that it would be funny to come out of the bathroom with the sling-shot on in front of everyone. It wasn't funny at all!!!! I about killed him. (Another proud parent moment.) The speedos that Jon, Zane, and BJ had didn't seem quite so bad after that but they were still pretty revealing. Haha. We are so thankful for all the friends that we have and for the Hanson's for having us up at the cabin. We had so much fun!!! Thanks.
